FAQ’s

Is it free to enter?2018-08-06T10:20:08+00:00

Yes! There will be no door charge. You can enter and leave as you please. If the site does reach maximum capacity, we will impose a one-in, one-out policy.

Do you use compostable packaging at your event?2018-08-06T10:19:28+00:00

Some of our traders may use compostable packaging and/or cutlery. Cardiff Council does not have the facilities to correctly compost these. Therefore, some packaging items you see on site may be plastic, which can (and will be), taken away for recycling.

At Summer Feastival, we encourage you to bring your own fork or spoon. All you have to do is give it a quick wipe when you’re finished you can take it home to use again! It’s an easy way to reduce your carbon footprint 🙂

Is there a recycling system on site?2018-08-06T10:17:20+00:00

Yes. We’ll have onsite recycling points. Please use the appropriate colour coded bins.

What are the opening times?2018-08-06T10:20:43+00:00

Fri 5pm-11pm, Sat 10am-11pm, Sun 10am-8pm

Are dogs allowed?2018-08-06T10:23:15+00:00

Only well behaved and trained dogs are allowed in. If your dog starts a fight, we’ll have to ask you to leave! Please respect the fact that this is a family foodie event, so please make sure your dog doesn’t leave its mark. If you don’t think it can be well behaved, please leave the dog at home.

Dogs won’t be allowed in the kids area.

Can I bring my bike?2018-08-06T10:42:13+00:00

Yes, we love pedal power! You can bring your bicycle in or leave it locked up outside. We won’t hold any responsibility for your cycle, so it’s down to you to look after it and leave it somewhere sensible.

For obvious reasons, you wont be allowed to ride your cycle inside the site!

What street food traders are there?2018-08-06T10:43:20+00:00

We’ll be mixing it up each week, so expect up to 15 different street food traders each weekend. You can keep up to date on any of our social media platforms by following our handle @summerfeastival, where we’ll announce our weekly traders.

Is the site wheelchair friendly?2018-08-06T10:13:43+00:00

Yes. It’s an open field so plenty of space. We will also have wheelchair access toilets.

How much are the street food dishes?2018-08-06T10:43:56+00:00

We don’t control the prices of our street food vendors, but expect dishes to be from £5-£8.

Do you take card payments?2018-08-06T10:45:27+00:00

The bars will accept card payments. For the food traders, it varies. Most accept card payments now, but you will have to ask each vendor. Best bring plenty of cash for the tasty street food on offer.

No. So please make sure to bring enough cash! Our bars and most of our traders will take card payments. If you do need to pop out to get cash, the quickest cash point is the garage on Cathedral Road opposite Jolyons.

Our event is held at Sophia Gardens, a stunning park area right next to Cardiff Castle. The postcode is CF11 9XR.

The site is a 2min walk across the bridge on Castle St, which runs along the castle. You’ll have to walk or cycle to the site, which is easy to do. We won’t have any parking for visitors, so if you do need to park, you’ll have to use one of the public car parks nearby.

Can I bring in my own food and drink?2018-08-06T11:04:55+00:00

No. We’ll have plenty of food and drink available on site. If it’s for medical reasons, we’ll obviously allow that.
